What did ya think I was only going to talk about organizing, budgeting, getting to work on time, and my kids driving me batty. Hell no! For this mama to work it I need to talk about it all. And that means va- jay-jays too!
OK it may be easier for me to talk about sex or sex related things because at my job I talk about sex (well actually safe sex) everyday with college students. Did I say I love my job!?!
But seriously let's get to it. Ever since I had my divas I feel like my hair "down there" has grown wild out of control. Is that possible? I don't know if it is hormones or what but I can not keep up with it. I mean how far down the leg can it actually grow? And let me tell you the hairier I am the less sexy I feel and the less sex my hubby gets. He says he doesn't care but you what I say? LIAR!! He is just being nice. But anyways I care.
So let's talk a bit about my past "down there" grooming.
Well back in the day I would do the normal grooming. A little trim here and little shave there and whoalah perfect. But after kids, like I said, it got out of control. The old way was not working anymore. Plus more and more hair was growing and I wanted it gone all of it gone.
I always thought about getting a professional Brazilian wax but I just could not get the courage to actually go and get it done. I mean I don't know the thought of sitting there naked in front of a complete stranger pouring hot wax on my whohah was not very appealing to me. So I tried a home waxing product of course with hubby's help. Did I mention we are very close? Well that was a disaster and not to mention very painful. Plus just trying to find the time to do this was a task in itself.
So home waxing was out.
Well after that I went another year or so of dealing with out of control va-jay-jay hair until about a year ago I just could not take it anymore. I decided I was going to get a professional Brazilian wax. So I research and found a place. First moment of embarrassment was calling and making the appointment. But I did it.
Ok lets go to the day of my first Brazilian waxing appointment. I felt like I was going on some hot date. I got all ready. Took a bubble bath, shaved my leggs, put on a nice outfit, did my hair. As I was driving I started getting butterflies I was so nervous. But I kept telling myself "this must be done". When I got there I checked in and the receptionist was like "Ok you are are here for a Brazilian" Ahhhhh why did she say that out load? I was like "um yes". After 5 minutes I was called back and met my waxer Lori.....
She was amazing so professional and put me totally at ease. She talked to me the whole time which you would think was awkward but it wasn't. One of things she said to me is that the Brazilian wax is the most popular service and her clients are almost all in their thirties and older. And almost all of them are mommies! That's right mommies! I knew it! I knew other moms felt this way. But of course no one EVER talks about it.
Oh and it case you are wondering it wasn't nearly as painful as I thought and it was over in like 40 minutes.
And the end result...oooo la la! I felt like a new woman. I felt sexalicious! It was one the best thing s (stayed tuned for all the others) I ever did for my sex life. I have been getting Brazilians now for over a year and I will never go back to a hairy scary va-jay-jay. I now recommend it to all my friends. Who almost all had a sigh of relief when I talked to them about it.
So if this is something you ever want to do here is my advice:
- Research a good reputable place. Make sure they specialize in the waxing service you want. DO NOT GO TO SOME CHEAP PLACE. You get what you pay for in this case.
- Start small. If you don't want a full Brazilian then start with just a bikini wax and work your way up. Whatever makes you comfortable.
- Make sure you put it in the budget because it is expensive. About $70 a pop. But it is so worth it and you only have to get it done about every 6-8 weeks.
- just do it!
So this is just another way I try to work it! With kids, a job, and everything else life throws my way I didn't need another excuse not to feel sexy.
Alright, what about you? Spill it! What are your grooming tips. How do you stay sexy? Or could you care less? But I doubt it. Let's talk about it!

Um, I could kind of care less. I know this is horrible, but shaving around my c-section scar is such a pain in the A and it is still sensitive (after almost 1 1/2 years! C-sections suck), so I don’t really deal with it much. I do some proper maintenance on the days when I actually get to take a shower, and that’s that. Bravo for you getting the Brazilian! I’ve always been too scared of the pain and now, I really wouldn’t do it with my scar! Ouchie!

Thank you so much for your comment. If and when you are ever ready just start small and find a professional. I am sure they will be able to do it in a way that would not hurt your scar. But you are still sexy mama! Working it is all attitude anyway!

I nearly stopped in my tracks when I came upon this post. Seriously, you’re right, no one talks about this. I have thought about getting a Brazillian in the past, but the thought of a stranger putting you through all that pain never seemed appealing. Home rememedies are messy.
After reading your post I’m thinking about giving it a go. Thanks for setting us all straight.

Hey! Thanks for stopping by. Honestly once I got over my fear and did it I was soooo happy. And it did not hurt that bad. it was tolerable. If we can go through childbirth we can get a brazilian!

Thanks for you honesty and bravery in sharing about this topic. I have yet to dare the brazillian wax bed, but like you I had my hubby lend a hand when I was pregnant and couldn’t bend to reach my knees let alone my tender spots.
Your right though … after having my son 4 months ago it is a little more work to maintain.

Hey new reader here! Fun blog!
Brazilians scare me (the waxes not Brazilian people that is!) I’m happy just to tidy up now and again lol. But if I could afford it, and if I could guarantee I would never have to see the person who waxed me ever again lol, I might give it a go!

hahaha that is funny…and I thought the same thing as first (about never seeing the person again) But ya know what when you find someone professional the embarrassment is not so much an issue (at least is wasn’t for me). It is like jumping in a cold pool….just jump…hahaha

Ha! A shot of vodka and a few aspirins helps before a wax too! I do mine at home with the help of Ms. Sally Hansen. Well, I did when I could still see down there… A few more weeks before my “clean-up” can begin!

I guess I do a Brazilian shave. Small town, small resources…I’d have to drive over seventy miles to get one from a reputable place. But,hey, you do what you gotta do.
