I am so excited to be a part of Theta Mom's "Time Out for Theta Mom Thursday!" monthly meme. I know this is a bit early but I am tired and going to bed. Plus I have off tomorrow and hoping to sleep in.
Never heard of Time Out for Theta Mom? Well let me explain. However, if you want the full explanation then check out what the originator of the meme Heather has to say here. But let me give you the short of it. Once a month moms need to blog about 1 hour that they found during the month to spend on themselves without the kids. Fun right? If your not already a part of this meme then jump on board. Then make sure you head on over to Theta Mom to link up.
Ok here is my hour...
Now I know those of you that have been reading my blog might be a little sick of hearing me talking about Brazilian Waxes. I mean how much can one person talk about her who-ha right? Well don't forget I have only been blogging for about a month and in all seriousness the only time that I had an hour to truly relax was when I was getting hot wax poured "down there" and then ripped off. So....this was my time out.
Like most, if not all moms out there, I do not get much time to myself. Even when I am at work I have people wanting a piece of me all day long. And with cell phones, facebook, and email it is very hard to ignore the everyday demands of life.
But for an hour every 6 to 8 weeks I am in peace and quite. I turn my cellphone off and when called in enter into a dimly lit room with relaxing new age music playing. Ahhh I can just hear it now.
Well this month I was due for my visit. Actually long overdue but we won't go there. And you may be thinking how can it be relaxing when pain is involved? But it's funny Lori (my waxer) says that all her clients that are moms are always the most relaxed because this is the only time where they can get some peace and quiet. And I totally agree. The peace, quiet, and total relaxation I feel is worth any pain endured.
So that is my Time Out For Theta Mom Thursdays. Can't wait to read all of your time outs!

Funny – I get my brows waxed – does that count?
A friend of mine told me today – that she sometimes goes to the bathroom to get a break but now her kids can open the door…
love to you,.

Thanks so much for playing along! I think the other reason its so relaxing is because you know you are doing something for yourself! Way to go mama!!!

I get really psyched for an eyebrow wax, but I’ve always been terrified of the Brazilian! Yikes! Does it really hurt as bad as I think it would? Maybe I’ll just stick with my razor.

Oooohhh! Too fun! I haven’t gotten the nerve to have the Brazilian yet. But I love having my brows and armpits done.

I feel the same way. I go in for my eyebrow and bikini wax like I am heading to an all inclusive vacation or something. My waxer is a wonderful woman from Iran and I love to hear her talk. I get VERY CLOSE to the Brazilian….but I just can’t go all the way…if you know what I mean? I’d really like to though….maybe next time I will be brave enough.

You are a brave soul my friend. I have never been able to work up the nerve to get a brazilian wax.

I have to say, I’m intriqued. I must be morbid or something but the whole “brazilian wax” and “peace and quiet” and “pain” thing struck my interest. LOL!

Haha–isn’t it sad that we have to go through pain for quiet time?!
I’ve gotten a Brazilian a couple of times–you may have just talked me into going more often
