I am hopping between facebook, twitter, and all of your blogs. Which by the way you are all writing some great stuff this week.
The girls are asleep. Hubby is out. Dog is laying down nicely. So I have all the time in the world to put together some killer blog posts but for some reason every time I click "add new" I write the first sentence then nothing.
It is actually very frustrating because I know what I want to write about. I swear it is in my head. I am thinking about it all right this second. But the words are not making their way from my head to my fingertips.
Writer's block is my arch enemy. I actually get it the worst when I just try to type out what I am thinking. I do much better when I can write my thoughts out first with pen and paper. But let's get real. Who has time for that? Not me!
Way back when when I was in graduate school I submitted an 80 typed page thesis which I completely wrote out on a legal pad before I typed it up. But I had the time then. With two girls, a hubby, house, and job I need to be able to formulate my posts in my head then when I get 20 minutes of free time type them out. But that does not seem to be working for me.
I really need to beat my battle with writers block. Because I have so much I want to say in my blog. Like I said it is all in my head. I wish you all could read my mind. Or wouldn't it be cool if "they" created some cool gadget that just typed out the blog post that you were thinking in your head. That would freakin awesome!! A little weird but it would make blogging a piece of cake for me.
So how do you fabulous bloggers fight writer's block? Would love to hear your tips on this?

I have the same challenge. I can write a killer post in the shower, when I am driving or when I finally lay down to sleep – then when I finally have time to write, I completely blank or it doesn’t come out how I originally thought it would. I wish we could record our thoughts, because I write some damn good stuff in it. I think I put too much pressure on myself when I sit down to write a post.
I enjoy reading your blog, you have some great material! I am anxious to hear the feedback as well.

If I have writer’s block, I just don’t blog. But, um, I usually don’t have it haha.

I am sooooo with you on that one! I have the best blog post ideas when I am up to my eyeballs in 12 other projects (non involving writing). When those creative moment strike, I grab a notepad start jotting down bullet points. Quotes, facts, funny lines. So later when I actually have a few minutes I at least have some of the “bones” of a blog post. Hope this helps!

I have a word file that I throw one liners or post ideas that I think up into. If I’m at work I just email my home address with the thought. Then I sift through that file once in a while.
The best way I find to get unstuck is to visit other blogs and comment. Often a good comment can be expanded into a blog post on your own blog and you have an automatic rationale to to link to the other blog into you post. “I was just reading about XYZ at ABC Blog where he said “DEF” and yada yada yada.”
There is a black hole effect of blogging, twitter, facebook where it sucks all your energy and interest into mantaining “just keeping up with it all”. At some point you have to cut your attention span to it all and stay focused on your core passion about which you are blogging. And the passion is the passion, the blogging itself is not the passion.

Ideas usually hit me when I can’t blog, so I write them down in my notebook I carry with me. When I can’t think of something I turn to my list….
Have a great day!

I get it from time to time too….sometimes in the middle of a post! I find that if I just walk away and then come back to it later that usually works. I never force it if the words aren’t flowing.

I do this all of the time!! I have a bunch of ideas in my head & I scribble them all over the place, and then when I get time to sit down & write…..I spend it stalking people on FB, sending shout-outs on Twitter, or catching up on new blogs!
Visiting from TMC!!

bloggging works for me if I see pictures taken recently. but since, we had trouble uploading the pics on our computer, I cannot find my writing soul…hmm, where are you, soul? :p

This happened to me just the other day. Instead of stressing (like I started to) I decided that it would be better not to post than to post something that wasn’t working. I figured I would just wait until the next day or even the following. Some days it just all comes out and other days nothing.
