That's right if your husband can walk into a store and buy a big old box of super plus tampons then consider him super hubby! Because not many guys are man enough to buy their girlfriends or wives tampons. Not saying that a guy is a bad husband if he won't stop at the store and buy them so hold off on the tomato throwing please. But if he does he gets a bonus star in my eyes!
The last couple of weeks have been busier than usual and to top it off hubby has been sick. Well of course my monthly friend "flow" decides to show up. I really shouldn't be surprised by her popping in but since I am done having children and hubby is snipped snipped I really don't keep track. All I know is flow stops and visits my sister and I typically around the same time.
So anyway she is here.
This morning as I look in the bathroom closet to grab a tampon I notice there is only 2 left. At that time I think to myself that I will just go buy some more during my lunch break. Well lunch came and went and I did not have time. Then I meant to stop after work. Well work ended and I just jumped in my car and hurried to get the girls. I hate when they are in daycare for a second more than they need to be. So oops forgot to go to the store...again.
We ate dinner. I did laundry. Gave the girls a bath. During that time hubby says he is going to the store to get himself some medicine. Of course I give him a list of other stuff we need again forgetting the tampons. Seriously I do not know what is going on in my brain sometimes.
Anyways, while I was rocking the little one and entering into my state of relaxation I suddenly jumped up and thought oh crap I need tampons. What the hell am I going to do? My little girl is almost asleep and I hate to just plop her in bed and run for the phone. But I had to. I put her down grab my phone and called hubby.
Conversation went something like this...
"Honey"
"Uh oh what did you forget?"
"Ummm how much do you love me?"
"What? I am in the middle of Target what do you want? Oh no I know!"
"Yep I need tampons..Sorry but I can't really help it"
"Ok fine what kind?"
"Tampax Super"
"Super?"
"Yes"
"Oh Jesus Christ! Ok fine I will be home in a bit"
"I love you! You are the best!"
"Yeah I love you too"
Then I thought. Man I have the best husband. Thinking back to when I was younger there is no way in hell my dad would have ever bought tampons for my mom. Actually I don't even think he can even say the word tampon.
Anyway, I did giggle a little thinking about my hubby going into the tampon isle looking for Tampax Super. And having to ask a manger "Umm excuse me but can you tell me where I can find uhhh Tampax Super"...hahaha I know mean right but hey I delivered two of his children so he can buy me tampons. Ok one doesn't have anything to do with the other but whatever.
When he came home he says "Here are your tampons honey".
I said "Thanks you are the best. You know it takes a real man to buy his wife tampons right?"
He says "Really that's all I have to do? Cool! Well just remember this next time I ask you for a favor." wink wink.
It always comes back to sex doesn't it? But that is fine. Whatever it takes to keep the flame alive. hahaha!
What about you? Have any funny hubby/tampon stories or the like?

I don’t have any funny stories, but my husband has always been willing to get those kind of things for me. He doesn’t think anything of it, thank goodness. He even bought me Depends undergarments after I had my first daughter because I lost a lot of blood loss and the pads just were not keeping up. And, yes, I think he is a “real man” for doing these things for me. I consider myself to be very, very lucky. It sounds like you are, too!

Ah yes, I must agree. And with your last sentence too
I too have such a wonderful specimen for a husband. We are blessed.

I only have a period every three months, so I never have to buy tampons. It’s heavenly.

I love how my husband will call me from the store, in the tampon aisle and start whispering about what kind did I want…ha!
And you’re right–we have awesome men to pick them up for us
[Reply]
Amen sista! That’s what separates the men from the boys!

Stopping in from SITS!
What a great post! you are so right, not many men would do that deed without so much as one complaint! Good for you, you have a keeper

Haha – sex is always the answer! I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets that impression.
My hubs proved himself this past New Years Eve when we were in a hotel, Aunt Flo came an entire week early, and I was empty handed. We were getting ready for a wedding, so while I got ready he ran to the store. Definitely made him Super-Hubs in my book!

That is great! My hubby has done that for me {against his own will}. I remember when we were just dating he would be embarrassed now after 2 kids it doesn’t phase him anymore

I agree! My husband rocks like that, too!

LOL!! Yes, it always comes down to sex. My hubby has done that for me before too. Isn’t it the most wonderful feeling in the world to know we’ve got one of those guys?
[Reply]
Had to lol at your blog. Yep, mine will do the same thing, but he will actually write down the exact kind, brand, size, etc that I want and then call from the store to see if I am interested in the sale on some other kind, just in case.
As for the sex, as long as it keeps ‘em happy and helpful! Ever notice how when they are really ‘satisfied’ , they will even help with dishes and laundry?? ROFL

You do have the best husband! I am not sure mine would buy me any! LOVE it! One lucky lady

Now THAT’s a MAN!!! I run out of tampons and forget to buy them all the time too. And then I find myself scrounging around through the bathroom drawers looking for a pantyliner or anything to tide me over. I don’t know that the hubster has ever had to buy them, but I know he would if I asked. He’s good like that. He HAS picked me up hemmorhoid cream on more than one occasion. Does that count?

Hey there!
Does my hubby get extra credit for doing this when we were in college and not married? I think so! Funny story? Once he had like 2 or 3 salepeople helping him because he couldn’t figure out which ones to get and he didn’t want to call me back to ask. So he cam home with 3 different boxes. He’s a keeper, I tell ya.
Best,
T

My EX husband buys tampons (or pads) for me.
I had my tubes tied last year. My ex husband brought me to the hospital and waited while they did the procedure. On the way home I asked him to stop at the drug store so I could pick some pads up. We are divorced, I wasn’t going to ask him to do it for me. Instead he insisted I stay in the car, I had just had surgery, and he went in and bought every kind of pad and tampon I might need for the next 12 years. When he does things like that I wonder why we got divorced.
