I think one of the simplest ways to make money online is with cash back/or rebate programs. More than likely you are not going to get rich with these programs however if you are shopping online anyway then you might as well get a little bit back. And in my quest to find ways to make extra money online I think this is one of the first strategies I will look at.
Back in July 2007 I join the cash back program Big Crumbs. I heard about it through another seller on eBay. In basic terms it is large affiliate type program. Every time you click through them, to the online store you want to purchase from, they receive a commission. Then they pass part of that commission onto you. Membership is free and you do not pay any extra to link through them. But you must link through them in order to get credit for your purchase. And you receive more cash back when you refer others to Big Crumbs. Then every month they send you a payment via PayPal or now they have a Big Crumbs credit card that they can deposit your money into. But I would stick with PayPal since a credit card can get you into trouble.
Let me show you a snapshot of my purchases, # of referrers, and payouts to give you a glimpse into what I have earned from Big Crumbs. Now like I said it has not been a lot because I have not been shopping that much since being on a budget nor have I been actively working towards building up my referrers.

The next snapshot is to show the payouts I have received over the last few months. Of course I blocked out some info for privacy and security reasons. So far since I have joined I earned $394.31 and with next months payment it will be $417.40. Now in three years that of course is not a lot of money but it is $400 I didn't already have. And honestly, in the past, every time I get that payment sent to me via PayPal I would get excited because I had a little extra for coffee money. Now I will be using it to pay down debt.

Let me just talk a little bit about why I joined. My primary reason for joining was because I did (and still do) A LOT of shopping on eBay. And Big Crumbs gives back 36% of the sellers fee of the item you purchase.
In addition to eBay, when I do shop, I also primarily do it online especially when it comes to clothing, electronics, baby items, movie tickets, etc. So every time I shop I just click through Big Crumbs and get a percentage back. Each online retailer is different with the amount of cash back they give.
And Big Crumbs has an awesome selection of retailers. Just to give an example you can shop Gap, The Children's Place, Mini Boden, Old Navy, Kohls, Kmart, Walmart, just to name a few. They have hundreds.
It is easy. And like I said if you are going to shop online anyway then you might as well get some kind of cash back.
I recommend taking a look around there site. See what they have to offer and get yourself some more information. Then if you are interested sign up. When you do sign up you sign up under someone through refer a friend. If you by some chance get to Big Crumbs on your own not through a referral link they will ask you who referred you. If you say no one then they will just assign you someone to be under. Or you can choose to sign up under someone (like me).
Once you sign up (which takes seconds) you can start earning cash back on your purchases. Then you can start earning more by referring friends who use Big Crumbs.
I love it and I think it is an easy first step in starting to make a little extra cash online. There are other cash back/rebate programs online. I have not used them yet but I am going to look into them.
I would love to hear from my readers. Do you use any cash back/rebate programs? If so which ones and would you recommend one over another? What have been your experiences?

Really I don’t do alot of shopping on line. When I do I use something like MyPoints to go through since I order so little. If I start to order more I’ll definitely look into this! We need very little new items at my house.
HI! I just found you through ThetaMom, and I’m very impressed. We’re currently working hard to pay down our debt and be “cash” rich and debt free. I am always looking for ways to save money and pride myself on our $120 grocery bill for groceries that will last at least two weeks. I use Ebates when shopping online, and you can use online coupon codes in conjunction with receiving cash back on your purchases, worth checking out. I also use Swagbucks while searching to earn bucks to then redeem for online gift cards to places such as Amazon. com . I passed your site onto a friend and my husband, I look forward to following you now.
Hey, Tammy. I’ll be sure to check out Big Crumbs. I’m thinking of experimenting with some eBay arbitrage so it will definitely come in handy! $400 for doing your normal shopping is nothing to sneeze at. I have a cash back program on my Paypal debit card but my last reward was only $1.20!
PS: Did I thank you yet for participating in my cash giveaway? If not, thank you!
OMG! You are killing me! Why didn’t you tell me about this before! I just made a huge purchase from The Children’s Place and I could of made some serious cash!
I’ll be signing up right now!
