Gumdrop Swap, a children's clothing swap boutique, is owned by Gabby F. She has created a very unique venue to help families save hundreds of dollars every year in clothing costs. Her slogan is "wear, swap, repeat, and save!"

The average family spends $350-$500 per child for clothing and accessories each year. Gumdrop Swap is a unique spin on children's consignment that will allow you to buy stylish new and gently used kids items for a fraction of what you have been spending. You bring or mail your gently used children's items. We "buy" your items with credits called gumdrops. You use those credits to shop online or in our boutique. We swap childrens' clothing sizes Newborn to 16 as well as toys, books and shoes.
When Gabby contacted me to try out and review her business I was very excited because as you all know I am always looking for different ways to dress our kids for less. I was immediately impressed with her business.
I had a very positive experience with Gumdrop Swap. First, like many of you, I am a very busy mommy! I do not always have time to list clothes on eBay or run to the local consignment shop. So being able to go through my kids clothes, fill out the Gumdrop Swap form, put in a box, and then mail off to Gabby was a godsend. I spent about 20 minutes doing this compared to the countless hours listing everything on eBay. It was so easy which made it totally awesome!! Not to mention a guarantee sale. As long as your items are in good quality shape you can trade them in and you are guaranteed to get gumdrops for other items. And it does not have to be name brands like Gymboree or Hanna Andersson. Her focus is more on quality than on the brands.
I paid for priority mail to ship the clothing however I could have chosen a cheaper method of parcel post. But I was leaving for Florida and wanted to get the clothing to her as soon as possible.
I sent an assortment of dresses, shirts, leggings, tops, pants all of which added up to 140 gumdrops. Like I said this was a guarantee sale. If I spent the time to list these items on eBay it would have taken me at least 3-4 hours and they may have not sold. So I was very happy to see I ended up get 140 gumdrops to spend with very little effort on my part.
Once she deposited the gumdrops into my account I was able to shop. Now you don't get to pick the exact items you want which may be a problem for some. You pick out the type of items you want. For example, 4 pairs of jeans, 2 tops, 3 dresses, etc. I let her know the styles I liked for my girls then she sent me back a great assortment of clothing. That was the first time getting clothes that way and I have to say I liked it. it was like getting a surprise package.
I was thrilled with what she sent me. My 140 gumdrops got me 8 shirts, 8 dresses, and 10 pairs of pants/jeans. Brands were Gymboree, Gap, Beetlejuice, Faded Glory, Old Navy, Children's Place, among some others.

Giveaway will start on Sunday July 25th. 2010 and end August 1st, 2010 at 12:00pm. Open only to US residents. I will pick a winner using random.org on August 1st after contest ends. Only valid entries will be chosen to win. Winner will be contacted via email to be made aware they won. The owner of Gumdrop Swap will also contact winner to activate subscription. You are allowed to enter as many entries as you like with the first one being required.
